I think the answer is obviously yes, reasons that most players run out of form due to lack of competitive games. International club friendlies are mostly organised to keep the players fit and warm for the second half of the season, but squad for these friendlies are extremely weakened to avoid injuries of first team players, so the aim is still defeated.
