On Tuesday NFF or The Nigeria Football federation, reported that Gernot Rohr had already signed a beneficial two-year contract as a Super Eagles' recent technical adviser of Nigeria.

The NFF announcement appeared in only two days after the development and technical committee presented the German tactician as new preferred candidate for the Super Eagles vacant job.

On Saturday the NFF’s TDC (Technical and Development Committee) has already met Rohr to recommend his candidature for this job to the Executive Board. Super Eagles news Ahmed Yusuf Fresh, who is the vice-chairman of Committee, told the team was convinced of suitability of the former German defender for this work after an extremely long session with him personally in Abuja.

He said that Mr. Rohr had the confidence and also character to lead the Super Eagles to brand new heights of excellence. He added that this person had deep knowledge of both North African and sub-Saharan regions and truly surprised the committee.

Sunday Oliseh, who quitted on 26th February, citing a lot of acts of different contract violation, will be replaced by the 63-year-old man from Germany. Rohr’s appointment can hopefully put to true end the terrible embarrassment, which was caused by NFF’s Paul Le Guen naming as a new technical adviser, but only for the Frenchman to turn down the proposition.
