Why is Yakubu not going to Egypt?

He is one of Nigeria's best three most in-form Strikers. He's been banging in goals week-in, week-out.

Yak shocked everybody today by declaring that he's not going to the nations cup.

Please see the link:

What is Yakubu's problem?

Can he do without Nigeria?

When and why did he have personal problem with Eguavoen?

Methink : He is a good club_ player but not a national team_ player.

Yak, Good radiance to a bad rubbish!

Waoh! if he is that good why was he not considered for the africa footballer of the yr award alongside drogba?

Why are we not hearing of him in the same breath as we hear of the "great ronaldo and rooney"?

Face it, he is terrible as a player, scoring apart!

When it comes to national team football games Yakubu perfectly fits the ball boy position especially when there is scarcity of balls cos the guy just run up and down the field and he would have been the best national team player if football was measured by sweat during a game

A lot has been written about the YAk issue. He should stay put in England where he is receiving all the noise right now. It is not needed in the Nigeria National Team despite the fact that he has been banging in goals all season. To me, he is a club player and not a national player. Yak, enjoy the rave in england and when it is over, stay back there for we don't need you in any capacity here.

@ aruako1

Lets leave jay-jay out of this. Let us give him the parting gift  by captaining us in Egypt, he has served the country well.Though he is one of the reason why we don't make it to Mundial but he has an internal pain by missing out in being the first Africa player to go to four consecutive world cup.

I think Yakubu is a good player but form should not be the only consideration in picking a team because football is not an individual game. I think we will be better off without him with the players we have. My only regret is that Okocha has not joined him in this boycott. trust me these are 2 players we dont need.

He has NEVER been good for National team.

He's one of those club-players.

He's one of the reasons why we fail to make it to Mundial( He played rubbish throughout angola match but Chukwu prefers to substitute a better Ayo Makinwa for Yakubu to continue his nonsense)

Never had respect for his national team

I think the Yak is making a very big mistake. I know if we had made it to the world cup, he would obviously not be saying what he's just said. But nevertheless i think we need him. Yak is a very dangerous striker who attacks from the wings, and i think we it will only add to the hype when our opponents realize that we have somebody like him on the bench. He should think and act wisely, Germany 2006 is not the end.

Who am i going to blame ?

Is it Ogunjobi or Nigeria or who after what he did in Tunisia?

He came back to England to paint our Country back in the international press. I will always remember when two of my football friends(white guys) ask me why Nigeria is using a sledge hammer on Yakubu, babayaro & the other 3rd guy(cant remember his name now) saying AFTERALL THEY WENT FOR 5 MINUTES COFFEE BREAK IN Tunisia.

I wash the three of them down well well anyway.

Yak forget the fact that his work permit application was turned down on first application recently b'cos he didnt play the enough matches for Nigeria.

The guy sucks.

He allowed the little he has achieved to get into his head and that's the sure way to a big fall.

I agree with you that he's a more good club player rather than national player.

He underperforms when it comes to National team.

I don't think we will miss him so far we have Obagol and Makinwa, Aghawonder and Nsofor, with Kanu.

So he can go, we won't miss Yakubu at all.

As for me I don't think we need him (Yak) in the National team for now.

Let's leave him until he matures and repents.
