I will say female bankers are a good influence to nigerian banking industry. But dont forge, there will always be one or even two judas who will try to mess up the efforts of the good ones.

Its really funny to read all this comments. But I thought Nairaland should be for more serious and Mature people, who believe in changing the world, and not for those, who have no job, but waste their precious time, sending meaningless topics,

Female Bankers have to be tactful negotiators. It's a mans world for starters, and some Nigerian men make it HARD for a woman to do her job right. Lets be honest with ourselves, there are men who when they see the opportunity to exploit a beautiful women, they will grab it. Some women make sure they keep it on a strictly business angle at all costs while others cut corners by offering incentives that give people the wrong impressions, just to get the job done. Please, don't stereotype, it is not fair to those who work hard and maintain a high level of decorum. And even for those who cut corners, condition critical for Naija, u know fit judge them!

Pondering over where this thread had been all this while that I didn't come across it. Still pondering!

i join all the ponderers in this thread.

i have really wanted to ask this question but i said let my take a search of this topic b4 asking.

Female bankers should be sincere to theirselves, 80% of female bankers are "EXECUTIVE PROSTITUTE" likewise their male counterparts. There are these bankers that are always trooping our office in Abuja(FCMB,UBA,FIDELITY,ZENITH,INTERCONTINENTAL,OCEANIC,PHB) asking for an account. When getting the account became a bit difficult, the girls started coming individually on their own. FCMB top the rank. Later i realised that these girls were sending texts to our official lines asking our boss to meet them up in some hotels after work. I wonder what these girls want i asked. I found out that they must meet their target or get fired.

SO I STILL PONDER WHY IT SHOULD BE SO. female bankers ponder on this and come out with positive pondulated result.

You must not take an offer of a marketing executive in a bank in the name being employed and destroy urself.

Prince of Ponderers,

Does it occur to you that the lady banker may have struck a deal with the govt. officials to split the interest on the huge deposits? Calculate 7% interest on N10bn. Abi you've never heard of such deals? Do you know if she agreed to offer the officials unsecured loan facilities from her bank in return for the huge deposits? Is that a strange news to you as well?

Why must you always assume that every business transaction between a man and a woman must be sealed with sex?

Most of the male posters here are motivated by infantile envy into making silly and wild generalizations. Even in the UK and US, you will find most counter staff at banks are women, so what's all this hype about? One reason why banking industry worldwide is dominated by women is because banking is a personal service industry and it is a scientific fact that women are better at human relations than most men. Even in the UK and America, its the same pattern. You'll find far more women on Wall Street than you'll find on the factory floor.

I'm not a banker. I've been approached several times by female bankers from Zenith, Oceanic. Fidelity and Diamond Bank in a most professional and decent manner to open accounts, invest in IPOs or to take advantage of their bank's investment services. If I had spare cash I was not using at the time or the offer was too good to miss, I was quite happy to open account for them. If I didn't have cash to spare, I'd politely tell them too bad. I have never been offered sex by a female banker and I have never asked for or demanded sex. I cannot speak for other banks but for these four banks, I KNOW for sure that they don't hire prostitutes. I personally know loads of female bankers in both professional and social settings and I know for sure that they are not prostitutes.

BTW, it may interest the ignorant, over-sexed males on this thread to know that male bankers also have targets.

why is it that we don t like hearing the truth.most of these bankers(female) are not just marketing their banks services but also theirs too.TARGET MUST BE MET.I can never work in a bank because i hate every thing about them.Their employees are being used,no capable union,no rest of mind,no time for your family.what kind of slavery is that.Sometimes i dont blame the female banker because they want to go extra mile in securing their job due to the economic condition of the nation.Fear a desperate lady for she can do anything to get what she wants.since there are lots of umemployed graduates hovering around for employment, they that feels that they are already employed does every possible and impossible thing to retain their work.National Assembly should do something about this banking issue, the way they use their employees.most marketers in the bank are females.WHY?WHY?WHY?There should be dignity in labour.

@skyline   what's d basis for you.r arguement? perhaps u.r boyfriend sef dey among d male bank marketers u're talkin' about. forgive me, i'm just pondering aloud

While male bank marketers may indulge in such as u claim, na woman own plenty past o. . .una dey do am on a much more larger scale

and we all know how much a woman understands d language of money. . .

@OYaTo

I just decided to reply your post now. Yes my Boyfriend is a Banker but not a marketer. The basis of my arguement is that issues especially wrong ones, shld not be narrowed down to the female gender alone. Such cases where both sexs are represented shld be generalised because both men and women work in the Banking sector.

what I am saying is that because I was female she didnt have time for me eventhough I had money to set up various account s and she might of met her targets with my business. But she didn't want to know. However, when she realise the guys were with me she started to pay attention and come and see how she was breaking her neck to give business cards, anything I can do for you sirs etc. Did I see Business card oh no

All I would say, I went to standard Charted in Ikoyi just to in query about opening account and the female claiming to be business manager she had no person skills,no customer services. I was just about to leave when my man friend came in with that comedian guy Julius, come and see how she was now jumping for attention to help me. why that do you think? hmmmmmmmmmmmm

omo c how girls desperate reach!

all they wanted to do was meet their target and have a chance of being retained. they both thought and said he was a very nice and generous guy. they both met their targets but eventually, only one of them was retained.

So d otha girl that lost out kinda mismanaged her p**sygave it out 4 free. . . .lmao

0

there is every element of truth. those in marketng are most vulnerable. a rich cousin of mine helps them to meet targets by connecting them with big boys with huge funds plus his own foreign investment accounts and i tell you, he gets his fill from them, for real. you know exactly what am talking about.

his most recent escapade was with two youth corpers marketing for their banks in lagos. they both knew each other but still took their turns with him. all they wanted to do was meet their target and have a chance of being retained. they both thought and said he was a very nice and generous guy. they both met their targets but eventually, only one of them was retained.

so what are we talking about here, !!!!

I think its bad for you guys to condemn these female executives, I mean u don't have an idea of wot they have to go thru', so guys chill a little on the battering.

It's a known fact. . . (a lady confessed a few posts back, not sure if she's joking sha)

Check this out. . .a close pal of mine called me up yesterday, sounding very downcast. . says he has to till end of next month to meet his target of N100million. . .(thot he was kiddin' until i heard d depair in his voice) dude was askin' me for any help i could offer, suggestin' that i help him talk 2 my bosses (dude sounded like his job was on d line).

Now what do you think a gal would do? I'm not saying all would follow the "executive" route, but my dear, the loose and unscrupulous ones will, rather than beg like my poor guy friend is doin'.

oYaTo - IT IS stereotyping when you say female bankers are, and you don't say some or few or even most . What kind of overgeneralisation is that? Do not underestimate the power of this home videos o. Afterall who actually sees them prostituting themselves? It's all from dem say dem say or too much home video ! I insist.

0
Avatar
Newbie

It is a legitimate question, mostly because of the portrayal by home videos. BUT, the answer is categorically NO ! My sister and my best friends are both successful bankers and they are decent Godfearing people. This is stereotyping!

Female Bankers: u mean people who sweated and toiled in school to achieve somethin. i have worked with several female bankers and i can attest to it that these pple are professionals who go abt their business like any other business person. if u av issue wt their dressing or their look, then check urself, cos they need 2 look professional. please stop this abuse of pple who are out to give their best to their jobs. i can even add that their contribution 2 d organisation is even much more immense.

0
Avatar

hmmmm,

it's just that female bankers are needed to encourage those money bags to deposit large sums of money in banks. some walk away with it, some dont, while some even enjoy it. This is the truth!

0
Avatar

I can say about 60% girls inthe bank are executive pro. half of the rest (20%) havent been aproached by the a good client wit money and the rest, less than 20% are the good ones .

All am saying is the bank has much more prostitutes than other organizations. thats if u dont understand Y we are pondering

0

well im a banker and i can assure you that been an executive prostitute doesnt rest solely with bankers, every profession have their own class of traitors,if you ponderers must know, there are lots of female bankers out there trying to make a living with their own strict principles, its better not to generalise,it all depends on how the female banker wants to play her game.Maybe when per chance you have the opportunity of hanging around a group of female bankers or maybe just one banker,u would hear what the true story is about, dont stay from a distance and judge.

a large number of them are still single due to thier irresponsible acts. with time they all regret thier actions and start pondering of thier past life. They have to realize that all that glitters arent gold. later in life some get married as second wives or get a broke jobless guy who's up to 10 yrs younger(in some cases) to marry and others well , die single

That is life , lose some, win some

I bet you this thread can't be discarded without making a glaring observation.I've been besieged by various ladies from different banks very desperate  about my organization having an account with them in the last two years. What baffles me is the level of desperation they exude.70% of these ladies wanted to get down with me cos of the measure of funds they think we control. One of the branch managers of Zenith,a married woman was toasting me with text messages. An oceanic marketer traced my house on a weekend in a desperate move to arrest my attention. If not cos of personal decision not to enmesh myself in sexual rascality,i would have had enough of these prostitutes, sorry bankers. All these appears disgusting to me.Based on my experience,i will find it very difficult seeing many female bankers(married & unmarried) as responsible.

You need to know the pressure these ladies pass through to bring fat accounts.A friend in Oceanic bank recently told me in confidence that she slept with a customer to get an account. When i asked her how much the account was worth, she said 3million.She was sober, but couldn't risk being sacked as she is already in probation.I don't envy bank jobs at all
