Please Advice, If It's Worth Moving Back To Nigeria?

Is it worth moving back to Nigeria

I work for one of the biggest investment management bank in the world(based on AUM). I currently earn about N600K monthly after TAX but excluding bonus, i was suppose to get promoted to assistant manager in Feb 2009 but the bank has a freeze both on pay and promotion until 2010. By July 2009 i would have MSc Finance plus 3 years experience. BTW I'm between 23-27yrs old

Now, I'm tired of what I'm doing, guess because i didn't get my promotion/pay increase. and it's not gonna happen soon, i seriously want to change my career path and since I'll be completing my MSc finance in July09(part-time), it should open new doors.

I'm seriously considering moving back to Nigeria which my parents are against because they believe it better for me to stay here and that they believe i would have a better future here.

About getting a job in Nigeria, i don't believe its a big deal since I've the experience and qualifications and also have families who can get me a job over the phone, but my parents don't want those families involved in my life, they believe they're evil even though most of them are extremely wealthy.

About staying here, I'll easily get a job that will pay me N700K after tax if i stay here.

Is it worth moving back or is it just because most of my friends have moved back and i feel lonely without my close Nigerian friends

They are in Nigeria?

Then they must have a very big reason for you not to come back to Naija (every parents want thier child back in nigeria if he can secure a job)

Dont go against the,i suggest you ask them the reason why they dont want u in Naija. They know better

I actually believe i can get a job without involving those families because i believe my CV speaks volume and btw i've friends whose families can also get me a job in case i find it difficult.

If you wanna go back to Naija, fine, but pay rates are not the same.

I dont think you are ready to go back to Naija if you are asking a question like this. Your parents do not want you to deal with certain families who wanna get you a job - and you are in moral dilemna about it? In Naija, you have to connect to collect. There should be no moral quandary about that, otherwise, I suggest you just stay where you are and live jejely.

Nigeria is a good place to  go back to after your masters.i intend going back also after my masters but you have to come to reality

Your parents have more experiences than you about life and they must have a good reason why they left Nigeria

Most parents would want thier kids back in Nigeria to have a life there but yours says no.They told you one of the reasons which is a very big one.dont think books and education can fight such thing like that. Your folks must have a good reason why they dont want you to associate with your other families in Nigeria

Its better you understand what actually going on.why they dont want you to go back than forcing yourself back.it could be dangerous

all are my though.i know you know what to do
