3rd class should not intimidate you. For one, you still got through the studies and got your diploma. Secondly, you can grow and develop in your profession. Online you can find much information on accounting. For a professional it is crucial to be posted on all the latest news and changes in the area of their expertise. So, keep on looking for a job and keep on developing. You might not land the dream job at first. Get some work experience and boost your confidence, then go head and look for a better offer.

In 2014 the test for the job positions in banks was shortlisted and carried out in November. People had to take Aptitude test November 8th. There are many websites where you can practice to take those interview tests online and get prepared when the time comes.

3rd class can not get any thing reasonable cause even some 1st class are on the street. Take the following steps.

1. target a professional course

2. register your membership

3. prepare 4 the exam

4. write the exams

5. be chatered

acca, ican, cibn, cisa, cim, etc

6. re-apply fro job or create your own desired job. God bless you and good luck.

my dear, 3rd class or first class, the sky is your limit. ?Your grade is jus a grade not YOU, its just not YOU. If you limit urself to a 3rd class grade, u ll continue to be a failure. so dont let that suppress the gift in you. i also finished with tthat grade.i have a good job and am still seaching for a better one.My mates are not where i am today. am not using this to despise them but to give glory to God.

i can do all things thru christ that strenghtens me. it all takes the grace of God. am sure a lot of ur mates finished with 2:2 and 2:1 and still roaming the street.

Just do a professional course or your masters. You will finish well, Amen

My dear, I wouldn't  lie to you the road is very rough and you'll encounter some many problems but let me tell you the truth, you are not a dullard, people will call you all sort of names but for you to pass a university without falling by the way side means you're good. Please, please don't let the side talks damppen your spirit they're all what they are: side talks. If you know you are very good at what you said, I mean very good then go for it, what is called demeaning, do you want to travel abroad and be washing toilets and dishes? Pray to God to help you see the way. I'll pray for you because it happenend to me, so I pray that it wouldn't happen to you too.

You are meant for GREATNESS

My guy! Do you know the Bible says about Faith? If u dont, check them out and try imagine how u can relate all the great things He created in the Whole world to your 'over-minor' situation. My friend, u are are equal as those having a 1st class if you can stand up on ur feet!! I advise you to do a professional course or courses in IT. IT people are usually employed based on their profesional qualif. instead of bsc. You will make it as easily as 2.1, 2.2, or 1st class do in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth!! amen

And I know people who have a 3rd class, who without any professional certificates have great jobs, but that doesn't help our poster does it ?

My point is doing a Prof course for a 2/3 years while still jobless won't help him,it also limits him to the field in which he did the course, and it won't erase his 3rd class, but an Msc / MBA which is also a University qualification would better his educational status.

@Kadman

I know people well who had 3rd class and are working in good places with the use of professional certificates.Thats all helped them secure the job and they were able to prove themselves

I would first like to advice people who find themselves in this guys shoes ; If you are on a 3rd class in your final year in the University, take extra semesters ! It's better to waste 1 year, than waste your whole future. Some Universities do not allow students take extra semesters,so the best bet is not to submit your project, you automatically get an extra year for not submitting, you can use this extra semester to borrow courses to boost your CGPA, the difference between an a 3rd class and a 2:2 is not much.

@ Poster

The best bet is to take an Msc or an MBA. It might be hard to enter into an MBA with your third class,so take an Msc in Marketing / Management or try MBA at the University you graduated from. Don't waste your time with all these professional courses that are not really relevant, and employers might not care about.

There is hope for you big time.

@ Bernard. Think I will appreciate the secret weapons oh! May come in handy. Hit me: okeycima@gmail.com

@poster: Don't give up hope. it might be difficult but there ways and means. Go for an ACCA and combine that with a masters degree then ensure you are chartered with ICAN. The sky automatically becomes your launch pad¬¬

If you have enough money do CFA exam. Its about finance sha

If you have that 1,Your level pass 2.1 wey no get backup cuz that what someone i know did and he works with vertiva i think

No dull yourself at all.

Bsides what the point of going back to school(in Nigeria sha ) when 2.1s ans 2.2s dont even have jobs.

The only thing you have to think about is how to be ahead of them even with your 3rd class.

Make research on that CFA but i am not sure if they do it in Naija sha

Darewonbil,

you are not at any 'disadvantage' because of your 3rd Class degree. It is unfortunate that Nigeria lays more emphasy on 'degree' and NOT innate ability or talent. From your posting, i perceive you are an ambitious and bright fellow. You are not the first 3rd class graduate that will emerge from this part of the world. You have some ingenuinety which the Nigerians school system does not appreciate. It could be one of the reasons why you came out with 3rd class. The Nigerian school system did the same thing to Professor Wole Shoyinka. They gave him 3rd class but he went ahead to nurture his Innate passion and Interest in creative writing. That creativity was condenmed by his Lecturers at U.I. but the same creativity of his landed him in the club on Nobel Laurete holders since 1986. The first in Africa.

Ubong Essien is another model i want to share with you who came out with a 3rd class degree at Unilorin. No one employed him of course because you will never find any advert which list 3rd class degree as qualification for employment. He abandoned his certificate and followed his Interest And Passion. The result? He is currently Nigeria's number 1 motivational speaker well sought for by banks and other blue chip companies in Nigeria to help motivate their workers for increased productivity at work place. He is also a successful publisher who runs the Achievers Mannual since 2002. Six years down the road, he is today many times richer than those 1st class and 2nd class graduates working for the companies that rejected his certificate. To cap it up. He currently runs the academy for motivational speakers in Lagos Nigeria. The first of its kind in Africa.

I have gone this far to reveal to you the hidden potential in you which you are not seeing now. Follow your passion and interest. Create a world for yourself and start to live in it.

I will be ready to share more with you on the secret weapon used by Ubong Essien to turn his limitation into Luxury and made himself a young millionaire in Nigeria without working for anybody. You can post your mailing address for further contact with me if you are interested in this information.

You are destined for greatness.

cheers

Hey Dear,

3rd class is not all that bad but it's just that the competiting society we found ourselves made it look horrible and irrelevant. You still have alot opportunity to get into the normal track.

All you have to do now is to build a richer CV, You can go for a Master degree in a related course like say Economics, Obtain a certificate in Computer (Basics Applications) or you can as well go further, Go for a language course like say FRENCH language. also ICAN, ACCA would help you alot.

With prayers/hardworking, All these would get you back on track and you would stand a better chances of getteing a very lucrative job even more than some of the 2.1, 2.2 holders.

I wish you the best of lucks

Don't listen to people, cos they will try everything possible to discorage you always lookup.

Pray for favour my dear. You will surely get a job. Meanwhile enrole for ICAN or ACCA but if you are deficient academically or really don't want to pursue a career in Accounting, then look for a small business to start. The key thing is, don't relent, make sure you are striving hard to make head- way, life is full challenges. Good luck!

Dont reason like that. Do u think having First class or 2:1 determines a good job or make someone to b successfull in life.

It takes the grace of GOD.

We have graduates with 1st class and 2:1 roaming about the street.

Let me tell u,I have a friend with Pass and with it, he has good job even he never apply for a day,for job. This fellow am talking about got 2 jobs at a time with a nice pay, infact he was dumbfounded, because these jobs are okay.

@bhnl dont loose hope, go for ICAN and still be on the lookout .U might get a job that u will never expected.

Hello dear,

I understand that you have a 3rd class. Now the question is do you want to pursuse a career in your area of study? if yes you have to proceed to get a proffessional certification like ICAN. With this certification and your 2yrs experinece, you can match for any job opening in your field.

Secondly, if you do not want to pursuse a career in your area of study, you have to go ahead and do a Masters degree in dat field you desire.

Doing a Masters automatically brings you to the level of 2:1 grade says a Human resources specialist.

Cheers!!!

Hi Dare, I will like to assume I am in your shoes so I will tell you what I will do.

1 if I still have age on my side and I can afford it honestly I will go back to school through D E with that result and come out with a competitive result in three years time.

2 If age is not on my side I will forget about looking for job opening and start something that can generate money for me to keep body and soul together.

The truth is no matter how good you are, with a 3rd class degrees in Nigeria no organisation will give you the chance to prove your worth.

In fact I know people with such grades plus ICAN yet they are not employed because of the 3rd class.

However, 3rd class degree should not be a discouragement to you. I'm sure you know some successful people in Nigeria today who made a 3rd in school. It all depends on your determination and attitude to the situation at hand.

Take care.
